SJ4H Support Group Meetings
Location: 304 Splitrock Blvd, Suite 301, Brandon, SD 57005
When: Second Wednesday of every month
Time: 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Phone: (605) 838-6636
What is the intent?
The purpose of the group is to allow survivors of suicide to share their feelings in a safe, judgement free zone with other survivors. By sharing their feelings openly, survivors are able to connect with other survivors and feel a sense of healing that is crucial to their walking through their grief process.
What can they expect?
Attendees can expect to hear survivor stories shared without filter. Stories are shared from the personal perspective of the survivor. Advice is generally not given during the group as the purpose is to simply to be able to share your thoughts, feelings and emotions openly. Often after sharing stories, survivors will connect one on one to provide a sense of support that can carry outside of the group. Sharing is not required but recommended. Groups are limited to 15 people maximum.
Who should attend?
During our group session some of the discussion can be graphic and sometimes vulgar so individuals 18 and older are recommended. Anyone who has been suffered a loss to suicide is welcome to attend.
Children and Private groups are available upon request. Please reach out to Survivors Joining for Hope for further info.
